The name “Marne 180”, crafted by a family dedicated to the art of wine for over four centuries, signifies the wine’s deep connection to its land (“marne” means marl in Italian, denoting the unique soil of the vineyards), as well as the 180-degree exposure of the vineyards, stretching from southwest to southeast. This meticulous positioning allows for a fine structure that only select areas in Valpolicella can offer.
The wines consistently unveils notes of cherry, alpine spruce, candied orange zest, violets and camphor. The oak combines with the refined tannins of the grapes, condensing the fruit with a welcome restraint. The vintage has a hint of sweetness. Age and the complexity that comes with it will serve this wine well lasting.
